Stories (and Secrets) of Pro-Social Media Sports Fan Engagement
Sports fans are social creatures. From the water cooler and the sports bar, to Twitter and Facebook, fans connect through a deep and abiding passion for sports. Aside from the sports stadium, social media is the next best space for fan engagement (secret #1, it might be better than the stadium). Fans bond while “talking trash” with other fans via social media, connect with favorites teams and athletes, and create original sports-related content (secret #2, the social media strategies you use for engaging sports fans are the same strategies for winning new fans for your local coffee shop, or any business). Learn how to translate a passion for sports into a passion for your business via social media. Using stories of fan engagement, Earnheardt offers tips and strategies for cultivating your sports fan base, while promoting a prosocial atmosphere. Whether you’re managing social media for the OKC Thunder, Target, or Tom’s Bargain Bin, you’ll leave with news tips for connecting with your fans (secret #3, by tapping into their identity, affinity and motivations).

Your Most Valuable Marketing Tool: 6 Ways You're Not Using Google Analytics (But Should Be)
Within Google Analytics lies nearly all the information you need to make strong online marketing decisions. Which landing pages on my site lead to the most orders or subscriptions? How well do smartphone users do on my site? Which blog posts drive the most traffic to my site? Which pages drive the most ad clicks? The list of valuable questions that can be answered is virtually endless.

But that's just the problem! The massive amount of data and number of reports within Google Analytics can be overwhelming. How do you find the information that can help you the most? How can you use Google Analytics to get more useful information, faster?

In this session, we will cover 6 specific uses of Google Analytics that you can implement right away to help you drill down to the most meaningful information efficiently. By the end of the session, you'll walk away with specific examples of techniques to apply to help you leverage Google Analytics to drive more traffic and increase conversions. This session will be helpful both for novice GA users, as well as intermediate users who look at different reports, but don't feel they get enough actionable analysis from them.

How to Think Like a Content Marketer
Attendees will learn:

Content marketing = content + marketing, and that creating great content is only half of the equation. Creating an audience for that content is the other half.

In order for content marketing to be effective, a content marketer need ask themselves 2 questions about every piece of content BEFORE they create it.

1) What is the goal of this content?

Suitable goals are: conversions/lead/sales, permission assets, links, qualified traffic and social engagement

2) What is the promotion plan for this content? (how will they get it in front of people).

I'll go through dozens of real world examples of content creation and the tactics used to promote that content (sharing, outreach, PR) for local brands that have resulted in social engagement and links from digital heavyweights like Dodge and The Hollywood Reporter.

I'll show how I track the success of content, tracking it right through to conversions in Google Analytics to answer the question - 'Did this content work?'.

3) Finally I'll talk a little about how these tactics should scale up into a coherent strategy and give some examples of the content strategies of familiar websites.

Will Your Circle Be Unbroken?

Much has been said and written about how businesses can and should use social media to reach business objectives. Whether it be sales, customer service, lead generation, internal communication or brand awareness, social media can have a role in just about any business.
But what about your operations and internal process? How do those social media touchpoints make their way through your company?
All too often there are processes and procedures for how to handle the communication itself, but not how to handle how that communication makes it way through your company and back to the person managing the social media to close the loop via the platform the contact came in through.
In this discussion, we will look at:

How to know if your current internal processes and procedures are ensuring the social media communication makes a complete loop through your company.
How to figure out what that circle should look like and how to tell if a link in the chain is broken.
How to ensure that your company is getting the most out of its social media efforts by most effectively and efficiently moving the issue addressed in the social media contact through your internal process and getting the resolution back to the public forum that it first came through.

How I Birthed a Brand with Social Media

It all started out as a Mom blog, with the dream of one day owning my own Birth Doula and Childbirth Education business. As I began to realize I was ready to launch my business, I wondered how I was going to transition from the highly personal "mommy blog" Honeybee Mama brand to the professional Childbirth Service, it occurred to me that in selling myself, I was going to sell my business. I continued to sell myself, opening up my family life to social media through my personal blog, professional blog for TulsaKids Magazine, Twitter and Facebook, and soon I birthed my business. To me, personal and professional work hand in hand to promote a brand that is uniquely me: Honeybee Mama. My Childbirth Training Manual and Training System, The Birth Experience, continues to flourish under the Honeybee Mama umbrella as well.

Three take aways:
1. Be yourself - your uniqueness is what will sell. If you're trying to be like anyone or everyone else, you'll always be one step behind and won't be able to be completely true to your brand.

2. Follow open doors - sometimes you have to be willing to do things you don't love that allow you to do the things you DO love. Also, following your skill set through open doors and opportunities that are presented to you expands your skill set and often makes you BETTER at what you love. This also expands your network and spreads the word even more about what you do. And in the social media world this increases visibility, which is exactly what you want.

3. Do exactly what it is you love - you can't be all things to all people because you're desperate for money or followers. When you're willing to do everything, you'll spread yourself too thin and you risk not excelling at the very thing you're excellent at and that you love. When you hone in on exactly what it is that you love to do, your passion will drive you through all the hustle necessary to succeed. In turn, you will only get better at that and shine and continue to build your brand. Also, this gives you a chance to pass the buck to someone else who loves something you don't. And when you scratch other people's backs, they'll scratch yours.

Finding Your Own Digital Balance: How to get more done, with and without technology
For the executive, the business owner and the freelancer, technology can be both a blessing and curse. We have instant access to the latest industry news, prospective sales leads, critical financial reports. But we also have a decreased ability to focus and a rising death toll from texting and driving. According to a 2009 Stanford University study, there is an almost unanimous recognition by social scientist that the digital age brings increased chronic multitasking and chronic multitasking results in diminished cognition.

Arvell Craig has successful started and managed multiple businesses over the past 13 years. Being independent, tech savvy and results-focused, he understands advanced strategies of using technology for saving times but he also has developed practices to detach, reflect and focus to stay productive.

We Built This City: New Government is Social

There was a time in this country when participating in government was seen as everyone’s civic duty and responsibility. Plans for city growth were drawn in the public square. Important policies were hashed out in coffee shops. Men would travel to the local government capital to speak, debate, and help shape their growing city and country. …and somewhere along the way, we all got lost. The 20th Century was about powerful despotic leaders, the corrosive influence of money, media fanning the flames of a divided “rght” and “left”, and our loss of trust for anything and everything that had to do with government.

Is there hope for the future? Yes; there’s lots of it. Groups like maptime and Code for America are at the forefront of a movement to change what government looks like, going forward. What it looks like is more local, more diverse, and guess what? More social.

The places that lead the charge in civic engagement are not in Silicon Valley or New York. They’re in Cincinnati, Nashville, Chattanooga, and yes, Tulsa. An opportunity exists now, more than ever before in Tulsa’s history, for a diverse group of awesome people with big hearts to change our city for the better. We’re poised for awesomeness, and we need you.

It’s time to take back the public square. It’s time to make government — of the people, by the people, and for the people — work in the 21st Century. It’s time to create the city we want to live in. It begins by doing something we all know how to do: talk to each other and share ideas. Let’s get involved, and let’s rock this town.
